Q: Easy question: How did you find yourself working at Derriere de Soie?
A: My friend and I were shopping downtown one day last year, and I saw that Derriere de Soie was hiring! I loved the shop, and the body-positive and welcoming message that it promoted, and I thought it would be the perfect place to work.
Q: Best class you’ve taken in school so far?
A: I’m a second-year at UVa, and my favorite class this year is definitely Mediaeval Latin. I love Classics, and am also taking Ancient Greek and Italian. Languages are my favorite classes by far.
Q: It’s a gorgeous fall day, and you have the day off. What does your perfect day look like?
A: My perfect fall day activity would have to be a hike. Sugar Hollow and Black Rock Summit are some of my favorite hiking spots.
Q: What is your favorite item in the shop right now?
A: I love the Cosabella Curvy Sweetie bra in Incenso. The color is so indescribably pretty: an icy lavender-grey shade.
Q: Tell us about your first job.
A: I volunteered at the American Red Cross during high school, and one summer I was a receptionist at the front desk. I loved volunteering there, it was a great experience for me.
Q: What do you want to do after college?
A: I’m not sure what I want to do after college. I love being outside, and would maybe be interested in pursuing wilderness or emergency medicine, or something related to forestry.
Q: Who would you want to cast as yourself in a biopic of your life?
A: That’s a tough question! I love Sophia Bush from One Tree Hill, I think I would want her to play me.
