As we grow as a company, we thought it would be fun to spend some time, dig deep, and get to really know the women who make Derriere de Soie such a special place. Hang out with us while we ask the standard, silly, and deep-diving questions that get to the heart of each person. Up today, Bra Fitter and Manager extraordinaire Sarah Woods, who, incidentally, makes a crazy good biscuit and is basically why we can have plants in the stores.
Q: Easy question: What’s your daily coffee order?
A: A cortado. Just enough milk to cut the acidity of the coffee, but not too much that it takes away from the taste of the espresso.
Q: How do you like to spend your free time?
A: What is free time?? (maybe growing stuff?)
Q: Most used emoji?
A: 🙂 old school!
Q: You’re throwing a dinner party – and can invite any three people (living or not). Who’s coming to dinner?
A: Do people really know how to answer this question ever? I tried to think of fictional characters, but after thinking about it… I once went to a Nobel Peace Laureate conference at UVA, and watched Desmond Tutu and the Dali Lama interact with a small child on the stage during someone else’s speech. So…it made me think…What would the conversation be like between Thomas Jefferson, Desmond Tutu and the Dali Lama? Pretty sure it would be fascinating on all points.
Q: What is your spirit animal?
A: No idea really…maybe My dog Sammey OR a miniature donkey!
Q: What’s your favorite bra of all time?
A: The Amour by Simone Perele. I really like how comfortable it is, but pretty at the same time.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
A: As long as it won’t affect your health negatively, try all foods you are given even if they seem weird, strange, scary or just plain gross. Don’t just try it once, but try it at least twice. You might find that if you don’t like it the first time you will love it the second. (or maybe the first time around wasn’t the best test subject!) In the end, you never will never really know if you like something unless you try it. Be open to new things, they could really surprise you!
