Shop for a Cause – Rivanna Area Queer Center, June 28th, 2025

We’re excited to welcome our newest neighbors on West Main St – the Rivanna Area Queer Center, to this lovely section of Cville. They provide a variety of support groups and services focused on creating community for LQBTQ+ folks of all ages. We firmly believe that we are all safer when we are all safer – and we’re excited to have this great resource center just down the road from us. We’ll be donating a percentage of sales on Saturday 6/28 to support their fundraising efforts to cover fixed costs for the upcoming year, and invite you to support them directly via their website if you feel so called.

Adorn Pop Up – July 13th, 12p-5p

We’re heading west again to Waynesboro on July 13th. Join us at Adorn – 141 N Wayne Ave, Waynesboro, VA, for by appointment only bra fittings – snag your spot here. Appointments require a $25 deposit, which will be applied to your day of event purchase.

Private Events

We are happy to host private events for Girls Nights, Bachelorette Parties, and/or provide off-site educational seminars or bra fittings for women’s organizations. Shop for a Cause: Central Virginia Violence Interruptors June 6-8, 2025

We’re proud to support the work of Central Virginia Violence Interruptors, formerly the B.U.C.K Squad, in their work to resolve conflicts non-violently, and to build safer communities from within. From June 6th – 8th, we’ll be donating 10% of in-store sales to support their incredibly valuable work. If you feel so called, they’d greatly appreciate direct donations as well – you can do that, or find out more about them on their website.

Stepping Stone Charlottesville Shop for A Cause May 2-4, 2025

Join us for three days of shopping to benefit one of our favorite causes: Stepping Stone Charlottesville helps families with young children with gear, including diapers, to set their families up for success. They work with a number of community partners, and have seen a huge increase in need for basic care items. If you’re doing some spring cleaning and have gear for children ages 0-3, please think of them, and get more information on their website about accepted items. We’re choosing to donate 10% of sales to cover any out of stock or low stock needs – but they absolutely appreciate gently used clothing and gear (especially strollers and pack n’plays!), and they will accept opened boxes or packages of diapers if your child was like mine, and changed sizes right after we opened a new pack. Adorn Pop Up Fittings – April 27th, 2025

We’re heading out to Adorn Waynesboro for a day of fittings in their beautiful space. Appointments are required for this pop up so that we can best serve you, and available here. Please note, we require a deposit to secure your appointment, which will be credited against your same day purchase.

Panache Fit Event – April 10th, 2025

Join us on 4/10 from 12-4pm to see the latest designs from Panache, work with their fit expert and ours. Light refreshments available, along with their swim line to review. Special orders will be available to place at the event for your own cup-sized swim, or other bra favorites. Appointments appreciated but not required.

Spring Bra Drive 2025 – March 14th – 22nd

This one is always one of our favorites – and we will again be collecting donations of gently used bras and brand new underwear to benefit The Haven, our local day shelter for our unhoused community members.

Save 20% on your same-day in-store purchase with a bra donation, or 25% off a purchase when you donate a bra and a brand new multipack of mens or womens underwear.

We know that a new bra can totally change your outlook on the world, and we’re excited to continue to support The Haven’s work, while providing some much needed items to their visitors.

Pop Up Lingerie Shop and Bra Fittings – Adorn. Waynesboro – Feb 2, 2025, 12-7pm

Join us for an afternoon of bra fittings (by prior appointment only) and lingerie shopping – we’ll bring a curated selection of fabulous underthings out to Adorn in Waynesboro – 141 N Wayne Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980. Appointments for bra fittings available here.

Galentine’s Weekend Shop for SHE at Derriere de Soie – Feb 8-9, 2025

We love any excuse to shop for a great cause – and we love the work that Shelter for Help in Emergency is doing to help survivors of domestic violence or abuse rebuild healthier, safer lives. Their work reaches many women and families – and we are so happy to support their work. 10% of sales on Feb 8-9 (special Sunday Hours! 12p-4p) will be donated to support their work, which also includes interventions for teens in relationships. This one is a big one, and we’re looking forward to sharing more about a cause near and dear to us. Mark your calendars for November 29-Dec 1, 2024.

Shop for a Cause – Stepping Stone Charlottesville

Join us on October 19th and 20th, 2024 as we donate 10% of sales, to support Stepping Stone Charlottesville – an organization working to provide families in our community with all of the stuff that comes with having babies and small children – but might otherwise be unable to afford this gear. They provide everything from diapers to carseats – and considerable items in between – and believe in the dignity conferred by providing our vulnerable neighbors with quality items support the practicalities of raising small children.

We’re making a cash donation to allow them to fill in any item gaps in their inventory, but they will happily accept gently used and new gear too – more about their work and how to donate or volunteer with them directly, if you feel called, here.

Pop Up Fittings

BlueBird & Co Annex, 5792 Three Notched Rd, Crozet, Virginia 22932 – join us for by-appointment-only fittings at the Annex on October 20th from 12p-5p. Reserve your spot here – please note that appointments are for one individual only, and your spot must be secured with a $25 deposit, to be applied towards your purchase.

Fall Bra Drive – September 20-28, 2024

Join us and clean out your drawers for a good cause – and refill them with things that you love and are excited to wear. This year’s bra drive will support The Haven – which provides the scaffolding for local unhoused community members to find and secure housing, employment, health care, and other critically needed services. We’re also asking for donations of brand new, multipacks of men’s or women’s underwear to restock their shelves. Here’s the full rundown:

  • Donate clean, gently used or new bras – save 20% on your same day, in store purchase. Get one raffle entry for one of two $100 Derriere de Soie gift cards whether you purchase or not.
  • Donate clean, gently used or new bras + a multipack of brand new underwear and we’ll double the raffle entry and give you an additional 5% off your purchase – so you’ll save 25% off your same-day, in-store purchase.

The services that The Haven provides are so important to creating a healthy, safe community for all our neighbors, and we’re proud to support them in their work. Please note that we will be rejecting any bra donations that are stained, ripped, or missing pieces, as there is dignity in quality. If you have items that you’d like to keep out of the landfills but are looking to get rid of – textile recycling is an option, available from several online sources.

Shop for a Cause – Charlottesville Free Clinic

Join us August 23rd and 24th – we’ll donate 10% of sales both days to support the work of our local Free Clinic, which serves un-and-under-insured community members, including dental services and a pharmacy initiative! For more information about their work, visit their website.

Bra Drive: Benefitting The Haven

We are tremendously excited to partner with The Haven to support their work in our community, and to keep the impact of your donated items super-local.

From March 12-24, 2024, Derriere de Soie will accept donations of clean, gently used bras to be given out to The Haven’s guests in need of bras. As a thank you – we’re offering 20% off your same-day, in-store purchase. This offer doesn’t stack with rewards redemptions or additional discounts, but does apply to permanently marked down items.

We are requiring that bras to be donated are in good used condition – if you have items that have passed beyond their usefulness – we will provide you with textile recycling information. Some examples of things we cannot accept as donations:

  • swimwear of any kind
  • items that are torn, stained, or frayed
  • items with broken fasteners or wires
  • shapers or one-piece bodysuits

For an additional savings opportunity, bring in a new, packaged mens or womens multi-pack of underwear – and receive a savings pass for 20% off one purchase from June 1-8, 2024.

Undergarments carry dignity – and we’d like to share some support with our neighbors depending on The Haven for resources and services.
