Here at Derriere de Soie, we often get requests for non-underwire bra. Many women, for various reasons, prefer to not have wire in their bras. You may ask, how do they get the proper shape & support? What types of non-underwire bras are available? We are here to answer those two questions.
Let’s start with bralettes. The vast majority of bralettes are perfect for smaller busts. Mostly, they are unpadded. A great example are those made by Miel (which we have in stock & are a crowd favorite). They give great shape and are supportive for cups A-C and smaller D. If you have a full bust, the best bralette would be the Curvy Sweetie by Cosabella. While it doesn’t give the support that you would want for a 12 hour day at work, it is the PERFECT lazy day bra when you need coverage & lift, but not the full strength bra.
Say you want support but no underwire and you are between a B and a 36E. A great choice is the minimalist, but very chic Le Mystere Sheer Illusion wireless. We have found this to be a crowd favorite, especially for our clients who have had breast breast surgery and need support and comfort. It has a little padding and lovely shape. Another option that goes up in size beyond the 36E is the wire free Selma spacer by Anita Rosa Faia. Not only is it the perfect non underwire for a wide range of sizes, it’s so pretty too!
So, what if you have a full bust, need the support of a cut & sew underwire, but want something pretty? Sounds like a tough order, but it can be done.
